From next Wednesday, 1 May 2024, all vehicles that, due to their construction or the indivisible load they carry, exceed certain dimensions/weights will be subject to a separate permit requirement for the Catalan territory.

It has been indicated by the Catalan Traffic Service authorities that existing Spanish DGT (Dirección General de Tráfico) permits may be used until their validity expires. Until further notice, this applies to both routed permits and annual permits.
